FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Buying A Pool
Should I buy a pool?
Yes! As a rewarding investment, a pool not only adds value to your property but creates lasting memories for you and your family. As you step into your pool, the cool blue water will vanquish the scorching heat of Texas summers and will act as a stress reliever, boosting both your mental and physical well-being. So, relax and enjoy.
What is the best time to build a pool?
We build all year-round! However, if you’d like to be ready to jump in on the first day of summer, we recommend that you consult with us as soon as possible to prepare ahead of the busy season!
What is the best pool for me?
Besides the constraints of your backyard and budget, the options are limitless! How do you envision your pool? Is exercise the highest priority? Entertaining? Children? During your free consultation, we will address your specific desires and will create a custom design detailing how your pool will look when completed.
How much does a pool cost?
The total cost of a pool is very dependent on several factors. Though fiberglass, vinyl, and above ground pools may cost less, inground, concrete pools will endure for many years given their strong durability and solid structure. The overall size and area of the pool, ease of access, municipal requirements, property topography, added features, amount of perimeter decking, materials, and types of finishes will determine the final cost.

Preparation for Pool Construction
What do I need to bring to the consultation?
During the initial consultation, bring your ideas and questions! We will address the design, your specific desires, and the general pricing for your new swimming pool. During this phase, you will need to provide a copy of your property survey, which you may typically find in your closing documents.
Are permits required?
A city permit is required within the city limits of areas such as Katy, Fulshear, and Houston. Casey’s Pools of Texas and all required subcontractors will obtain the necessary permits.
What comprises the contract process?
After consulting with you to determine your desires concerning the pool’s overall use and your preferred design, the builder will provide you with both a design and a cost estimate and must assess your yard and any existing impediments to building. The written proposal and/or contract will detail: the pool size specifications, materials, decking, utility runs, equipment, cleaning systems, warranty information, and contact information.
What do I need to do to prepare for construction?
During the second consultation and pre-construction meetings, we will review the design and materials, make any necessary changes, and address other requirements such as financing, utility locates, HOA approval, and city permits if applicable. As the homeowner, you will be responsible for obtaining HOA approval and having all financing completed. We will also set an expected date of excavation and review expectations for backyard construction.
Designing Your Pool
How do I choose a design?
In building a custom designed swimming pool, the shapes and sizes are limitless! Freeform pools offer non-symmetrical curves and a more natural oasis look whereas geometric pools feature straight lines and classic rectangular shapes. In terms of materials, you can choose from a vast array of colors in tiles, tile inlays, plaster, rocks, and deck and patio surfaces. It all depends on your preference of design, from a tropical oasis look with rock waterfalls to a more elegant look with symmetrical angles and classic tiles.

New Pool Construction
What are the steps to building a pool?
After the pre-construction requirements are fulfilled, we can break ground. The steps include:
- Excavation (staking and digging)
- Steel (steel reinforcements will be added to give structure to the pool)
- Gunite (the method of applying cement under high-pressure to form a tough shell)
- Electrical and plumbing (we utilize the most effective equipment to maintain cleanliness and purity)
- Tile and coping (applying the choice of tile and stone, including brick, limestone, or flagstone)
- Decking (implementing the perimeter of the pool and other features such as firepits and outdoor kitchens)
- Plaster (after which the pool is filled)
- Start up (add start up chemicals and start the equipment)
How long is the construction timeframe?
The timeframe of construction ultimately depends on the size and complexity of the design. Inclement weather, subcontractor availability, homeowners’ association approval, and/or permits and inspections may also increase the time frame. On average, you can expect to swim in 6-8 weeks from the date of excavation.
What may affect the construction costs?
Many factors may potentially affect construction costs such as the access space provided for excavation, obstacles such as fencing and utilities, and a potential need to reroute utilities.
If I'm building a home, should I build a pool now?
If you are currently building a home and are wanting a pool, it may be more beneficial to complete them simultaneously as you can cut down the costs to re-establishing your yard and can avoid construction noises during the day.
